Leon, leave a light on. Leave a light for me.
Leon leave a light on., Won't you leave a light for me..
I saw him move a mountain once
from the eye of a little girl.
I saw him take her tears in hand
and ease her troubled world.
Then he reached down to the ground
and he handed her a stone.
He said hold it high up to the sky
and see the light beyond.
Leon, leave a light on leave a light for me.
Leon leave a light on, won't you leave a light for me.
I saw him take a woman once.
Took her by the hand.
Talked to her of glory days
and of the promised land.
He gave her what she needed.
Hope, to ease her mind.
Brought a light to her dark days
and all he meant was to be kind.
Leon, leave a light on leave a light for me.
Leon leave a light on, won't you leave a light for me.
I saw him take a junkie once.
Took him to his home.
Gave him food and comfort,
and shelter from the cold.
He said, "boy, what are you doin'
messin' with your mind.
Go find you dream and live it
and leave the rest behind".
Leon, leave a light on leave a light for me.
Leon leave a light on, won't you)leave a light for me.
Well, he speaks as if he knows
of a better time and place.
Yet, he walks along this weary path
with wisdom and with grace.
And if you look a little longer
into the faces of the people passing by
You'll find Leon there beside you.
You'll see a glimmer of the light in their eye.
You'll see his light shinning by and by.
Leon, leave a light on leave a light for me.
Leon leave a light on, won't you leave a light for me.
