Sometimes

Got spaghetti boilin' over, dishes soakin' in the sink.
The laundry's piling higher and there's no room left to think.
The dust has gotten thicker then the books on which it rests.
The green junk in the bathroom looks like a laboratory test.

Sometimes I don't do the best I can.
Sometimes things get out of hand.
Sometimes I think I'm livin' life just as it's planned.

Well I tried to win a million in the local lottery
The concession was a coupon at the corner bakery.
So I downed a dozen donuts, and went out to buy a dress.
The zipper would not close. There's no need to tell the rest

And I drove on up to Reno, placed my money on the red.
Moved it to the black, changed it once again.
The wheel was spinning fast and I held my breath so long.
As I was turning blue, I picked the color wrong.

Now my house is a wreck and my dresses don't fit.
I spent all my money on clothes and roulette.
They say there's a deeper meaning to this
along with the reason why we exist.
One thing I've learned on this you can bet . . .
You will always do things you will sometimes regret.
